Cas Dobla  - the “folded” house
Only once in a lifetime do you come across a unique property, which takes your breath away!

Crown Terrace 33 is exactly such a property!  The architects of HET, Naaldwijk, The Netherlands  (http://www.hetarchitecten.nl/) found their inspiration for this gem in “Fallingwater or the Kaufmann Residence” by Frank Lloyd Wright. 

As the renowned architect, Wright, noted, a "No house should ever be on a hill or on anything.  It should be of the hill."  Cas Dobla “emerges” out of the hill, and faces the ocean and the rest of the island in a 190 degrees amazing and unobstructed view. The concept responds strongly to the wide ocean view from its location on a hill.

The idea behind the design is that of a “folded” house: it protects its residents from the sun and at the same time generates a high degree of privacy, thus giving the feeling that one almost lives "naked" in the landscape. The floor folds around to the roof. All inner ceilings are full concrete and cement plastered. The walls between are finished with beautiful coral rock, the very material so characteristic to Bonaire. Other materials used are large glass windows, maple wood, granite floors and stainless steel.

Despite the fact that the spaces are closed, in order to meet the desired comfort, it feels as if one literally live inside the hill and you have the feeling that you live "all alone" in paradise!

This residence features numerous state of the art features and equipment. To name a few: a large “edge-less” magna pool, solar panels, heat pump boilers (generating hot water from extracted hot air) and a Bulthaup kitchen, with Gaggenau and Liebherr appliances, just to name a few.
